Advancing Industrial, Environmental & Transportation Monitoring and Management

Monitoring noise levels from your mine, quarry, wind farm or industrial facility is a complex process particularly when multiple noise sources are present, e.g. other industry or nearby roads.

Managing and monitoring construction noise in the urban environment needs immediate feedback.

Monitoring wheel squeal from within the rail corridor requires more than just noise data in order to identify the offending wagons. Making sure track "lubrication" is functioning properly gives confidence about noise outcomes.

These issues, if left unresolved, can all result in protracted assessment processes and stakeholder negotiations, which constrain development and create community uncertainty.

Introducing... BarnOwl® and SmartaData including Rail Noise Monitor, Construction Noise Monitor and our Rail Friction Management systems.

BarnOwl®

The use of traditional noise monitoring methods to monitor compliance and resolve noise complaints are prone to inaccuracy and can be very time consuming.

The next generation solution for industrial noise monitoring and management, providing a real time fully directional noise monitoring and control system.

You can find out more about the BarnOwl® system and its capabilities here or go to the Products page.

Rail Noise Monitor

SmartaData RNM can be used for specialised rail noise monitoring.  This system records audio and uses proprietary software to detect rail squeal from general rail noise and tag those trains.

The web based database reports noise parameters and other necessary information for each train.

You can find out more about the RNM system and its capabilities here or go to the Products page.

Construction Noise Monitor

SmartaData CNM can be used for real time noise monitoring.  This system is web based allowing the client to review data from multiple locations simultaneously.

Weather data is also collected and the system is also able to manage data from dust monitoring.

You can find out more about the CNM system and its capabilities here or go to the Products page..

Rail Friction Management

SmartaData RFM can be used for real time monitoring of track friction management including the application of correct quantities of lubrication / friction modifiers.  This system is web based allowing the client to review data from all its sites simultaneously. Alerts are sent when product is not being delivered correctly or the "tank" is empty.

This applies to "Top of Rail" as well as "Gauge Face" applicators.

You can find out more about the RFM system and its capabilities here or go to the Products page.

Bespoke Monitoring Systems

SoundScience has also developed a car park noise warning system to alert the site manager if unruly behaviour is occurring in their underground and at grade car parks. This includes the detection of loud music using both linear and A-weighted signals.

We can monitor temperature to ensure OH&S requirements are being met for those working outdoors and also incorporate weather or other monitoring data into a customised web based monitoring tool.

You can find out more about these systems here or go to the Products page.
